Worth a Read (Judicial Ethics Edition)
So, apparently, this 81-year-old district judge took over a bankruptcy case from the bankruptcy judge to shield this, ahem, younger woman from a landlord looking to evict her. When the landlord's attorney asked why, the judge reportedly responded: "Because I said it." There appears to have been an ex parte communication between the debtor and the judge. Ahem.
