Omina mala absint, but having made that imprecation, at this point I have to wonder whether the Tigers will finish ahead of Minnesota and Chicago. If they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, their collapse will remind me of the team from Cleveland last year.
Great pic by the way, which may never have been taken had someone, ahem, not pointed it out...
I'm a little more optimistic today than I was last week. The Tigers still have a two game lead on the Twins, despite a few weeks where they couldn't win, or score, consistently. The Twins, meanwhile, have been winning and winning and winning. Given just a little "regression to the mean" in the last two weeks of the season, the Tigers can probably hold on to that two game lead. Even if they can't, they are five games up on the ChiSox for the AL wild card. With a five game lead and two weeks to go, I'm starting to feel like the playoffs are in sight. (Not to jinx anything.)
Btw, every person in our section of the stands was looking at the sunset, and taking pix, so I wouldn't have noticed on my own, eventually, probably . . . .
I was just yanking your baseball cap...I hope you're right about the Tigers.
