Publius of Legal Fiction = von Spakovsky?

This story about how a guy named von Spakaovsky, who writes under the nom de plume of Publius, is a Republican operative pressing so-called voter fraud cases. Anyone know if this is the same Publius of the blog Legal Fiction?

He's not, certainly. "Publius" is almost a cliche as a pseudonym, so it's no surprise that there are (at least) 2 of them.

Hmm. I hadn't noticed that the Roman praenomen Publius is "vulgar". I would have thought it quite idosyncratic...

You're such a classicist. "Publius" is the pseudonym that Hamilton and Madison used in the Federalist Papers. So it's kind of "vulgar," sure.

Oops. I think I knew that factoid at some point in my life, like maybe high school when I last studied that period in history...
