Damn Right, We're "Bitter"!

Didn't someone around here just predict that some big mo would fall in the Clintons laps? Judging by the flap on the cable news tonight about Obama's description of "small town" Pennsylvanians as "bitter" about politics, faux outrage is the new black.

Don't miss the Big O's response. I was waiting for him to hit that little floater out of the park. Nicely done. Will the babbling heads acknowledge the obvious? Unlikely at their pay grade. Bitter is a drink better left to the proletarians.

Brilliant response by Obama. Not sure whether this speaks more to me, or to the condition of 'the political' in America, but when I see a speech like this from him it produces this perverse mix of emotions: pride and embarrassment. Pride that there is a politician in America who actually 'gets it' and can voice that understanding so eloquently and inspirationally- embarrassment that at my age, and knowing that cynicism is the only show in town when it comes to politics, I can still feel the aforementioned sense of pride.

Obama debunks bullshit better than anyone I've ever seen, and he does it by hitting back with a degree of intelligence no one else can match. What's nuts about this story is that his original comments were obviously true and not even remotely offensive. And everybody--Dems, Pubies, the press--knew it, and they still reacted as if following a bullshit script for phony outrage. If Obama wins, it will be sweet revenge against the idiographers.
