Don't call it a comeback . . . .
Now that the Ice Planet Hoth has been blasted to bits by Imperial Stormtroopers, the Rebel Alliance is in full retreat. As they flee to the rendezvous point, maybe Obama can make a pit stop on Dagobah and learn the ways of the Force. (Who is Yoda in this analogy? Bobby Kennedy?)

Good ol' Democratic death wish! Some things you can ALWAYS count on. The only positive way to look at this is that if O-Man does go on to win, he'll be a better candidate for it, never taking any lead for granted or underestimating his opponents.
Hopeful theory #2: winning in '08 would shape up as a giant bag of shit, much like winning in 1928, and we're better off losing.
Yglesias pointed out that Obama's optimistic goal not too long ago was to win one of the first two. There is still a long way to go. At least a whole movie.
